Habib Ali bin Ja’far al-Aydrus(q) was a man of great knowledge and was acknowledged as a reference point for many famous Scholars and Shaykhs from the Far East and the Arab world who would also visit him. In particular the famous Habaib such as Habib Hasan bin Abdullah as-Shatiri(q), Shaykh Muhammad Alawi al-Maliki(q), Habib Umar bin Hafiz and Habib Ali al-Jifri would visit him whenever they were in Malaysia.
It is said that once Shaykh Muhammad Alawi al-Malik(q) came to visit Habib Ali bin Ja’far al-Aydarus(q). In his heart he had a deep yearning to see the beloved Prophet(s.a.w). The two Shaykh’s met alone in the house of Habib Ali bin Ja’far al-Aydarus(q). After some time Shaykh Muhammad Alawi al-Maliki(q) came out of the house and proclaimed “My wish has been granted.”
