Biography

Born in Singkil around 1615, he studied for about nineteen years in Arabia, notably under Ahmad al-Qushashi and Ibrahim al-Kurani, and returned to Aceh around 1661. He served as qadi under the queens of Aceh, spread the Shattariyyah order and is buried at Kuala, Banda Aceh (the ‘Syiah Kuala’).
