The best-known classical Malay historical text, tracing the rulers of Melaka from their legendary origins to the fall of Melaka to the Portuguese in 1511. The widely cited recension was edited in Johor in the early 17th century; its preface is dated 1612, and editorship is traditionally attributed to Tun Sri Lanang. Many manuscript versions survive.
