Batu Bersurat Terengganu

The Terengganu Inscription Stone, found near Kuala Berang, is written in Malay in Jawi script and is commonly dated to 702 AH (1303 CE), although the reading of its date has been debated. It records Islamic legal injunctions and is key evidence for the early spread of Islam on the peninsula’s east coast. The stone itself is now held at the Terengganu State Museum.
