Muhammad Yusuf bin Ahmad studied in Mecca under Ahmad al-Fatani and returned to teach at Kota Bharu. He was closely associated with the Majlis Ugama Islam Kelantan and its magazine Pengasuh. Commonly dated 1868–1933.
